We went camping with our friends the Wiles this fall at the Sawnee campground on lake Lanier, or should I say glamping. We had a great time, but we weren’t exactly roughing it. There were inflatable beds, clean bathrooms, running water, electric hook-ups and even a TV. We started the weekend off with a tinfoil dinner complete with sausage, potatoes, onions, shrimp and even a crawfish for a surprise and smores over the fire. It was just a few weeks before Halloween, so we carved some pumpkins to boot; well, the girls carved pumpkins, the men watched football. The following day we explored the park and fished the lake dry. All said and done, the girls did very well, much better than I had expected, so maybe this will become a more common event in the future.
